I · The method

Read before you accuse

The answer is already in the drawer.

Cabinet 13 is a quiet deduction game about records that agree too neatly. Nothing is hidden behind a skill check. The work is to notice what the file says, what it omits and what cannot coexist.

Lift photographs, maps, statements and official records from the desk. Move the glass across each item, enter observations in the case file and draw threads between evidence that belongs together.

01

Examine the evidence

Handle ten documents and objects in each file. The glass records only what you actually find.

02

Draw what holds

Connect two pieces on the board. A sound link stays taut; a weak theory falls slack.

03

Sign the account

Use the findings that survived to answer the case’s final question and reopen the record.

II · The desk

No quest marker. No suspect list.

A room, a lamp and the file someone wanted closed.

The archive gives you no detective avatar and no dialogue wheel. It gives you the material record and enough silence to think.

III · The files

Each was closed. None should have been.

Three accounts left unfinished.

Each case stands alone, keeps its own progress and asks a different kind of question about identity, evidence and institutional certainty.

Drawer A · 1953

The Marchand Fire

A man burned in room 41. The insurer paid, the police closed the file and every surviving record agrees.

13-0271

Drawer B · 1951

The Sint-Anna Reach

A clerk came out of the Old Cut after thirty-one restitution files disappeared from his strongroom.

13-0409

Drawer C · 1952

The Eleventh Ward

A quarterly rent return came in forty-one thousand francs short. One man has carried the finding ever since.

IV · The board

A thread is drawn from one pin to another

A theory earns its place by holding.

Join two pieces of evidence and the board answers. Confirmations, anomalies, gaps and contradictions build the reasoning you will need when the closing statement is put in front of you.

What the label permits
